Spatch Features

Support for Multiple Protocols -
Spatch supports the following paging protocols:

Command Line Paging -
Messages can be sent directly from a UNIX or NT command line. Since a user interface is provided for messages transmitted from a user, this is most commonly used in conjunction with Event Monitoring where messages are sent from a system or an application.

User Interface -
The Spatch user interface can be used to send messages and to maintain the files. The user interface is accessible from workstations and dumb terminals.

Web Browser User Interface (PagePage) -
Send messages from any browser on your Intranet or Extranet. PagePage offers a fully customizable screen (web page).

E-Mail Notification -
Let Spatch check your e-mail and send a portion of the e-mail or a text notification directly to your pager or phone.

Individual or Group Paging -
Messages can be sent to individual paging subscribers and/or to groups of paging subscribers.

Scheduled Paging -
Messages can be scheduled for hours, days, weeks, months, and even years into the future.

Identify Users by Name or PIN -
When sending a message to a subscriber using the Interactive User Interface or PagePage, the subscriber can be accessed in the system by Name or PIN.

Baud Rate Flexibility -
SPATCH allows different baud rates for different paging carriers. Most carriers communicate at either 300, 1200, or 2400 baud.

International Telephone Number Handling -
SPATCH can use telephone numbers that are shorter or longer than the standard US telephone numbers.

Sorts Pages for Efficient Delivery -
Pages are sorted by paging carrier and paging subscriber. When several pages are being sent to the same carrier, SPATCH will send all of the pages with only one call to the paging carrier.

Parses Long Messages into Multiple Pages -
Messages that are longer than is allowed by your carrier will be automatically parsed into multiple messages.

Many Users, One Modem -
If you have purchased a multi-user license, multiple users will be able to access SPATCH simultaneously. These users will send messages from their terminals, and all messages will be transmitted through one modem and one telephone line.

Security -
Spatch offers an optional security module that controls access to Spatch and Spatch maintenance.

Log File Monitor -
Using the sysmon option, messages can be automatically pulled from a log file and sent to a pager or phone.

Echelon Paging -
A full escalation procedure for ensuring response to critical alarms.

Remote Client -
Client software for other monitored servers on your network. Remote Client accepts command line messages and then sends the messages to the Spatch Server (which sends it to the pager or phone).

On-Call Scheduling -
An on call schedule of your personnel can be setup. When a problem is detected and a message is passed to Spatch, Spatch can look at the on call schedule and automatically send the message to the person or persons "on call".
