If you are looking to purchase SPATCH for integration with your system
monitoring or other applications, you will need SPATCH Unlimited ($799).
SPATCH UNLIMITED allows an unlimited number of messages to be sent
via the command line. The command line messages can be initiated by
applications, monitoring systems, and scripts. Each command line message
will include the command "dp", the subscriber's name or
pager/phone ID, and the message.
These messages are then passed to the SPATCH Daemon which accepts the
messages and sends them to the paging/cellular carrier.
You can handle unlimited pagers/phones with SPATCH Unlimited.
SPATCH Unlimited
also includes...
If you have more than 2 or 3 people on your staff that need to be alerted
of mission critical issues, then you should consider the System
Monitoring Option Package ($799). This package includes SPATCH
OnCall Scheduling, Echelon Page, Log File Monitor, Remote SPATCH, and
Redundant SPATCH.
OnCall Scheduling can be used to setup a schedule of on call
staff. When a message is ready to be sent, SPATCH will look at the
schedule and automatically send the message to the person or persons
on call.
Echelon Page provides a method for escalating the message until
a response is received. The system manager can setup an escalating
list. When a message is to be sent, it pages the first person on the
list. If the person does not respond within X minutes, the page is
repeated. If the person does not respond after Y minutes, the software
moves on to the next person on the list and repeats the process. Up to
8 levels of escalation can be defined. Echelon Page works best when
used with an DTMF-ASCII Converter. The Converter allows users to call in
and cancel the alarm using only a touch tone phone.
Log File Monitor is an application that will monitor a log file and pass logged messages to Spatch.
Remote SPATCH is a client-server program suite which allows pages
to be sent TO a central server running the SPATCH paging system FROM other
UNIX, NT, and Win 95 systems on the same TCP/IP network.
Remote SPATCH eliminates the need to configure the E-mail system to
transport the messages. As well, it eliminates the use of "rsh".

Redundant SPATCH can be used if you buy two copies of Spatch Unlimited and two copies of the System Monitoring Option Package. Redundant Spatch allows you to run two Spatch servers with each one "failing over" to the other in the event of a system failure.
